{"id":1990,"date":"2025-08-13T12:24:33","date_gmt":"2025-08-13T18:24:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/legionpost19.com\/?page_id=1990"},"modified":"2025-08-13T12:24:35","modified_gmt":"2025-08-13T18:24:35","slug":"benefits","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/legionpost19.com\/index.php\/benefits\/","title":{"rendered":"Benefits"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Monthly Update: Nothing Significant to Report (Very quiet month)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DIC- Dependency and Indemnity Compensation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For a Survivor to be eligible for DIC the service member must have died while on active duty, active duty for training or inactive duty training, or died from a service-connected illness or injury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The survivor qualifies if the Veteran was:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Continuously rated totally disabled for a period of 10 years immediately preceding death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Continuously rated totally disabled from the date of military discharge and for at least five years immediately preceding death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-A former POW who was continuously rated totally disabled for a period of at least one year immediately preceding death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>THE VETERAN\u2019S DISCHARGE MUST HAVE BEEN UNDER CONDITIONS OTHER THAN DISHONORABLE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s this mean to you?
