The Herbert Griffin American Legion Auxiliary met December 3, 2024 at
6:30 PM with 5 officers and one member present. The meeting was
conducted by President Debbie Howell.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Preamble to the
American Legion Auxiliary were recited. The opening prayer was given by
Gail Gilliam.
The roll call of officers was given by Unit 19 Secretary Gail Gilliam. The
motion to accept the minutes as read was made by Judy Morton and
seconded by Beth McAdams and carried on the floor.
Finance – Libby reported that she will be sending $500.00 to CSCC for
Veteran\u2019s Scholarships.
VAVR \u2013 Libby and Jolene purchased table a table runner for ALA. They will
have the Unit 19 emblem embroidered on it. The funds will be taken from
the Veteran\u2019s account.
Libby reported that 10% of the sales on a Thursday will be donated to the
unit from DB\u2019s Pizza. Libby will find out the details, including the date.
Thank You cards for Carnival (Unit 19 participation).
Children\/Youth \u2013 No Report
Leadership \u2013 There was a discussion on the mid-winter conference. Those
to attend will be Charlotte, Libby, Jolene and maybe Teresa.
Education \u2013 No Report
Membership \u2013 No Report
VAVR \u2013 Debbie Howell and Dianne Burgess decorated the Christmas Tree
for the Shadybrook Mall VA clinic on December 2nd<\/sup>.
Girls State \u2013 No Report
Bills for Presentation \u2013 None
Poppy \u2013 Jolene asked about passing out poppies on Black Friday. She was
told \u201cNo\u201d because of the Salvation Army.
Gold Star \u2013 Debbie sent one birthday card.
Constitution and By-Laws \u2013 No Report
The Auxiliary Emergency Fund collected $9.00.
Large Pot: Cathy Coggins missed the drawing.
Jolene asked the Unit members to pray for;

Tereasa \u2013 Mother-in-law passed
Gail Gilliam gave the closing prayer.
The meeting was closed by President \/Debbie Howell.
Next meeting will be January 7, 2025, with dinner at 6:00 PM and meeting
