Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19 met on September 3rd<\/sup>, 2024. 1st<\/sup> Vice Commander Michael Neulander called the meeting to order at 6:35 pm. There were 27 members present.
Chaplain Kim Smith offered the opening prayer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

READING OF THE MINUTES:<\/strong> Adjutant Steve Metheny read minutes from the August 6th<\/sup> , 2024, meeting and they were approved as read.
FINANCIAL REPORT:<\/strong> Finance Officer Jeff Parks submitted the financial report, and it was made part of these minutes by attachment.
NEW MEMBER OR GUEST:<\/strong> New member David Buffaloe, U.S.A.F. Retired

COMMITTEE REPORTS:<\/strong>
Baseball Report: Donny Walters reported that the Post 19 won the district and lost 2 games in Missouri which ended their season. Troy Alabama won the World Series.
Veterans Services: Service Officer Dan Pullen was not present.
MEMBERSHIP:<\/strong> Adjutant Steven Metheny gave the membership report. Post 19 membership quota for 2025 is 388, 242 have paid, still need 146, the post stands at 62%.<\/p>\n\n\n\nSICK CALL: Post members on sick call are\n

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:<\/strong> Yve Bowshire handed out brochures for the American Legion Post 19 Junior Cadence
Team at the August meeting. Due to lack of participation the program was terminated.
NEW BUSINESS:<\/strong> The Executive Committee met August 29 th and set a budget for 2025. A Budget of $50,000 was set. Budget submitted by attachment. A motion was made to adopt the budget. Motion was seconded and voted unanimously by the membership to adopt the 2025 budget.
GOOD FOR THE LEGION:<\/strong> Past Commander Chapman presented the Legionnaire of the Year Award to Eddie Ables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roger Gilliam brought up a hamburger & hotdog cook out for Veterans on the American Legion Birthday and for the Post to participate in the Maury County Halloween candy handout. Everyone was encouraged to bring in a bag of candy to the next meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ANNOUNCEMENTS:<\/strong> There will be no meal at the October Meeting.
2nd<\/sup> Vice Commander Jenny Hoover announced Healing our Heroes presented by General Federation of Women\u2019s Club on the 24th<\/sup> of September. Tickets are $40.00
