Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19 met on <\/strong>September 5<\/strong>th<\/sup><\/strong>, 2023<\/strong>. Commander Roger Chapman called the meeting to order at <\/strong>6:38 pm<\/strong>. There were <\/strong>32 <\/strong>members present.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Chaplain Kim Smith offered the opening prayer. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n READING OF THE MINUTES: Adjutant Steve Metheny read minutes from the August 1st, 2023, meeting and they were approved as read.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n FINANCIAL REPORT: Finance Officer Donny Walters submitted the financial report, and it was made part of these minutes by attachment. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n NEW MEMBER OR GUEST: None<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Guest Speaker: None<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n COMMITTEE REPORTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Baseball Report: Donny Walters reported that American Legion Post 19\u2019Cyclones won one game in N.C. and lost the next 2.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Veterans Services: Service Officer Jeff Parks was not present; Financial Officer Donny Walters gave the report.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Post 19 along with the James Patterson Memorial fund restocked the pantry with pooled funds. Veterans Service Officer <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Parks picked up the supplies and delivered them to the pantry.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n MEMBERSHIP: Adjutant Steven Metheny gave the membership report. Post 19 membership quota for 2024 is 410, 240 have paid, still need 170, the post stands at 59%. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n SICK CALL:<\/strong> <\/strong>Post members on sick call are <\/strong>Don Richardson, Robert P.
