Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19 met on <\/strong>April 4<\/strong>th<\/sup><\/strong>, 2023<\/strong>.  Commander Gene McShane called the meeting to order at <\/strong>6:34 pm<\/strong>.  There were <\/strong>27 <\/strong>members present.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Chaplain Kim Smith offered the opening prayer. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

READING OF THE MINUTES: Adjutant Steve Metheny read minutes from the March 7<\/strong>h<\/sup><\/strong>, 2023, meeting and they were approved as read.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

FINANCIAL REPORT: Adjutant Metheny submitted the financial report, and it was made part of these minutes by attachment. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW MEMBER OR GUEST: New Member Maurice Pomeroy U.S.A.F. <\/strong><\/strong>and Jennifer Hoover U.S.A. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

MEMBERSHIP: Adjutant Steven Metheny gave the membership report.  Post 19 membership quota for 2023 is 432, 360 paid, still need 72.  Post stands at 83%.   <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SICK CALL:<\/strong> <\/strong>Post members on sick call are <\/strong>Don Richardson, Robert P. Norman, Jimmy Hill, William T. Wall,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW BUSINESS:  A motion was made by Roger Gilliam to fund 5 girls to Girls State.  Motion was seconded, motion was carried by unanimous vote. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Post 60 in Pulaski will be hosting the 7<\/strong>th<\/sup><\/strong> District Convention on April 17, 2023, at 6:00pm.  Nominations and election of the 7<\/strong>th<\/sup><\/strong> District Commander will be on the program along with Department updates.   <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Legion Riders will be meeting at the Memorial Building the following Monday after the Legion meeting each month at 6:00 pm.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
