December 2022 Minutes
Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19 met on December 6th, 2022. Commander Gene McShane called the meeting to order at 6:42 pm. There were 28members present.
Chaplain Kim Smith offered the opening prayer.
READING OF THE MINUTES: Adjutant, Steve Metheny read the minutes from the November 1st, 2022, meeting and were approved as read.
FINANCIAL REPORT: Finance Officer Donny Walters submitted the financial report, and it was made part of these minutes by attachment.
NEW MEMBER OR GUEST: David Pique a 13-year member of Post 826 CA, transferring to Post 19.

MEMBERSHIP: Adjutant Steve Metheny gave membership report. Post 19 membership quota for 2023 is 432, 302 paid, still need 130. Post stands at 71%

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Food Baskets will be delivered Saturday 12/17/22. A total of 38 food baskets and 10 fruit baskets are to be delivered. All Volunteers are asked to meet at the Memorial Building at 9:00 am for addresses to be handed out.
NEW BUSINESS: Items for the Mule Day Auction Championship will be collected at the January & February meetings. Items should be at the least $20.00. Auction will be held on March 31st, 2023.
GOOD FOR THE LEGION: Walter Szyszlo spoke on the Veterans Benefits that are available. Free National Park memberships, free printable plaque from together we serve.com. Veterans can use the Military Exchange.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Commander McShane announced TN Department Headquarters will have an open house on December 19th. Address is 318 Donelson Pike Nashville TN.
American Legion Post 19 Ball Caps are for sale they are $21.00 each. See Bob Stephenson after the meeting if interested.
Legion Riders will be meeting at the Memorial Building the following Monday after the Legion meeting each month at 6:00 pm.
There being no further business, Commander Gene McShane adjourned the meeting at 7:12 pm.
