Convention:

-Mid-Winter will be Jan. 9-11 at Murfreesboro Embassy Suites. $48 for lunch and $10 registration. Registration is due by Dec. 22nd.
Tennessee isn’t allowing us to have a “Chinese Auction “any longer. Instead we 
will have a Silent Auction.

Constitution/Bylaws: 

Education:  – Continue to bring school supplies until January

        – $20 was donated to purchase supplies
        – Jolene asked if we could choose a trade for the CSCC scholarship – discussed, but 
          our bylaws may prevent. Beth will research.

Fundraising: Jolene gave a suggestion of a cookbook (idea from district meeting) – discussed

Girls State: Charlotte (chairman) is sending out donation requests

-District Meeting was held

Legislative: We are asked to send letters to TN Legislature about being able to have our 

      Chinese Auctions at conferences or conventions.

Membership: Beth McAdams(chairman) reports

Department wants all units to be 60% by November 11th and 100% by mid-winter.

Trans 4 – 13 members sent
Trans 5 – 5 currently – this trans has not been sent yet.

Total 65 members 59.09% towards goal 110 Department report shows 52 members

Public Relations: We have a 2 Facebook page. We also have access to the Am. Legion, Post 19 website. This is where our minutes are located – one is public and one is private. Marsha Robinson and Teresa Lyle are admins. 

UD & R:

VA & R: – A Quilt of Valor presentation will be made to a large group of veterans on Nov. 8th at 
the Factory in Columbia. The presentation will be at noon.

-There is a Veteran Tribute at First United Methodist church at 6PMon Nov. 9th
– Veterans Day parade – Nov. 11th at 11 Jolene is working on our truck and trailer
-Veterans Breakfast at the Elks Lodge before the parade (free).
-Charlotte will check to see if Alvin York needs specific items for their Christmas events. 
-Wreaths Across America – Joyce Johnson motioned that we donate $170 toward 
wreaths at Polk Memorial or St. Johns Cemetery. 2nd by Charlotte Conners.
