Auxiliary June 2025 Minutes
Unit 19 June 2025 Minutes
The Herbert Griffin American Legion Auxiliary met June 3, 2025 at 6:30 PM with 6 officers and 2 members present. The meeting was conducted by President Debbie Howell.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Preamble to the American Legion Auxiliary were recited. The opening prayer was given by Gail Gilliam.
The roll call of officers was given by Unit 19 Secretary Gail Gilliam. The motion to accept the minutes as read was made by Judy Morton and seconded by Charlotte Conners and carried on the floor.
Finance – Beth provided and explained the finances. A copy of her report is attached.
Americanism – Teresa Lyle reported that June 14th is Flag Day. Americanism Essay awards were delivered and the Field of Flags was placed and taken up.
Education- Teresa delivered cookies to Riverside school.
Leadership – Charlette announced that red, white and blue will be worn at the convention. Also, Charlotte installed officers.
Membership – Beth reported that Julie Thompson from Spring Hill would not be able to attend, and Kimberly Menos will take her place. Beth also provided a list of monetary sponsors for 2025. A total of $8,000.00 was used to send 16 girls and there is a balance of $472.56 remaining in this account.
Constitution and By-Laws – Beth provided printed copies of the updated Constitution and By-Laws for review. They will be sent to department after the review.
Poppy: There was $1,800 collected and Rotary donated $50.00.
Bills for Presentation: 1. Ink x 2 (Libby/Beth) 2. Cookie trays (Teresa)
The Auxiliary Emergency Fund collected $14.00.
Large Pot: Patricia Green Erwin missed by not being present.
Closing Prayer – Gail gave the closing prayer
The meeting was closed by President Debbie Howell.
Next meeting will be July 1, 2025, with dinner at 6:00 PM and meeting to follow.
