                                -The Unit was presented with several awards at the State Convention. Three of which                                      were first place.

                                – The July 4th children’s Bike Parade will be downtown at 5 PM. Set up begins at 3.                                             Anyone that can help would be appreciated.

                                – JoAnne will decorate the Riverwalk Park Gazebo for the 4th of July.

                Convention: Charlotte Connor was elected as the Department Historian and she will also be a                                       delegate to the National Convention.

                Constitution/ByLaws: Chairman, Beth McAdams, reported that she sent via email copies of the                   approved Constitution and Bylaws to members that attended the June meeting. She                                         still needs to email the document to the department.

                Fundraising:

                Girls State: 2025 chairman, Beth McAdams, reported that she received a call from Kathy                                                 Isaacson, co-director of Girls State. She said that two of our delegates left early from                                        Girls State activities. Olivia O’Neal left on Sunday night and Raigan Gardner left on                                        Tuesday. Raigan’s parents reported that she has several medical issues. These girls will                         need to reimburse the Unit for their costs. Beth has a list of ideas for 2026 and would                                               like for anyone that can to meet at 5:30 before the August 5th meeting.

                Leadership: A Leadership Workshop will be on Sept. 6th at the Donelson Unit.

                Legislative:

                Membership: 109 members have paid their dues for 2025, with one being new. Beth will                                               report goals for 2026 in August. She will also begin taking 2026 dues in August. Beth                                         also has lists of members that haven’t paid for 2024 or 2025, if anyone would like to                                  see them. The Unit pays for some members’ dues, such as Gold Star and those that are                          shut-in. These will be presented in August. If anyone knows a current shutin member,                                           contact Beth with their information. Jolene also reported that she sent handwritten                                                 notes to members who had not paid for 2025.

                VA & R:  A $100 donation was received from the Tenassee chapter of the DAR for Quilts of                                            Valor.

Additional Information Reported:

                Inventory: 1,012 hand held flags – these were given to JoAnne for the July 4th children’s bike                                              parade.

                                     Outside flags and pocket flags, Patriotic dogtags, 640 flag pins,

                                     6 Blue Star banners, 1 Gold Star banner, and 2 Blue Star stickers

                Audit and Budget: A committee was apponted to complete an audit of the unit’s books. They                                       will also put together a budget for the 2026 finances. The committee members are:                                          Jolene Thompson, Teresa Lyle, Gail Gilliam, Charlotte Connor, and JoAnne Ring.  Libby                                      Moss will also be present to answer any questions.

                Gala: There will be a gala on September 19th at the Cool Springs Marriott from 5:30 – 11:00.                                   This is a fundraiser for the department.

                Correspondence: Jolene asked for approval to contact members about doing Zoom for those                                        who can not physically attend our meetings. Permission was granted.
