April 2025 Minutes
Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19 met on April 1st, 2025. Vice Commander Mike Neulander called the meeting to order at 6:35 pm. There were 31 members present.
Chaplain Kim Smith offered the opening prayer.
READING OF THE MINUTES: Adjutant Steve Metheny read minutes from March 4th, 2025; they were approved as read.
FINANCIAL REPORT: Finance Officer Jeff Parks submitted the financial report, and it was made part of these minutes by attachment.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Baseball Report: Donny Walters gave a historical report of Chip Walters from his time with American Legion Baseball to being inducted into the 2025 TSSAA Hall of Fame.
Veterans Services: Service Officer Dan Pullen was not present.
MEMBERSHIP: Adjutant Steven Metheny gave the membership report. The post 19 membership quota for 2025 is 388, 340 have paid, still need 48, the post stands at 88%.
SICK CALL: Post members on sick call are Robert P. Norman, Jimmy Hill, William T. Wall, Archie Steen Jr., Larry Jones, Oscar Crouch, Ray Dye and Jimmy Rogers, Bill Ray, George Jones. Charles Dilahay, Calvin Cheek & Danny Staggs, Art Ankrum, Bobby Damato.

NEW BUSINESS: Maury County Breakfast Rotary Club donation was sent to Maury County Veterans Service Office instead of the Post by mistake. The quarterly payment the Post makes to the VSO will reflect the error.
GOOD FOR THE LEGION: Mule Day coming up April 3rd to 6th. The Post will participate with the Auctioneer Contest once again.
Vice Commander Mike Neulander will be attending the Columbia & Spring Hill High School awards day to present scholarships to this years winners. The Post will be hosting the ROTC scholarship recipients at the May meeting.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: April 15th at 6:00 pm, Pulaski Post 60 in Pulaski will be hosting the District 7’s Convention. District Commander Vincent Cuevas will be running for the District Commander.
TN. Department Conference to be held June 14th & 15th. Registration forms are available from Adjutant Metheny. Members must be registered by May 12th, 2025.
Resolution from Autress Russell American Legion Post 27 was read. Alternate National Executive Committee Member Nancy Harper is running for the position of National Executive Committee Member.
A motion was made by Past Commander Gene McShane that 27 Delegate votes from Post 19 be used to elect Nancy Harper into the position of National Executive Committee Member. Motion was seconded, motion carried with a unanimous vote by attending membership
There being no further business, Vice Commander Mike Neulander adjourned the meeting at 7:20pm.
